Flower Viewing for Japan’s Spring
In Japan, there are 4 seasons in total, and for each seasons there are many beautiful things to see. For example, the fireworks in summer, the red falling leaves in autumn, the snow in winter, and for spring it is the flower that represents Japan’s spring: the cherry blossoms.
Spring is a warm season with a pleasant climate. It is also the season where students enroll into their new school, graduate from their old school, and adults finding and starting new jobs. The cherry blossoms give blessings to these people who are starting their new life.
In Japan, there is a tradition where friends and families gathered around to eat and drink while watching the flowers; called “flower viewing”. The Maizuru Park in Fukuoka is a hot spot for flower viewing.
Even if it’s during weekdays, people still come to view the flowers. Recently, there are more and more foreigners participating in this tradition too.
If you have the opportunity, why not come and visit Japan during this cherry blossom season?
