Harazuru Onsen Kawabiraki Festival – Fireworks Display (May 25th)

Kawabiraki is a festival which is marking the start of the boating season at Chikugo River. More than 3000 fireworks in 20 set-ups are launched from the Harazuru Onsen Ryokan. Enjoy a spectacular firework close to the Chikugo River, where the lights of the fireworks reflect beautifully.
As a special event, a presentation of cormorant fishing called ukai (鵜飼) in Japanese, will be held. Historically, cormorant fishing has taken place in Japan since about 960 AD.
Also, during the event, street food stalls along the river providing flavors from the Asakura area to excite your taste buds.
If you want to relax and also enjoy a Japanese festival at one place, Chikugo River Kawabiraki Onsen Festival is something you shouldn`t miss.
